“Coach” as I am usually referred.  Since I was a freshman in High School I began coaching grammar school basketball and had the honor to coach my older brother Matt and two little sisters, Molly and Mo. Playing basketball throughout my youth, I moved on to play basketball in college and my love of coaching and analytics of the game continued.  Coaching to this day after transitioning to pickleball many years ago was a natural move.  I enjoy studying the game and helping players learn. I enjoy the little moves in pickleball that become game changers for players.  Being the President of the Rohnert Park Pickleball Club and cultivating the community we have all built is the true highlight in my pickleball journey.  Knowing others want to be a part of our community and enjoy the friendships that we all have is a joy. I enjoy the game of pickleball with my wife, family and friends.

I love this sport. In fact, I love pretty much all sports.  I played basketball as a child and young adult and became interested in pickleball about 7 years ago.  I also love to coach.  I began coaching with my sister Mir and haven’t stopped.  Coaching gives such satisfaction in helping others learn.  I am a competitive pickleball player.  I have competed in many tournaments and take pride in my success rate. I have competed and medaled on the National level in Pickleball.  Although I am an intensive competitor, I take pride in others knowing that I am a fun, fair ambassador of the game.  I enjoy golf with my wife and friends. I also take time to enjoy sports on TV and love seeing the Valkyries women’s pro basketball play in person.  Being a founder member of the Rohnert Park Pickleball Club has been a source of great pride for me.  I love the camaraderie and friendships we all have made along the way.

I am 83 years young and a US Pickleball Ambassador.  I started playing indoor pickleball at 74 years old and really started getting “the pickleball bouncing” in Rohnert Park.  I was one of the first coaches to give free lessons to beginners and have helped the Beginner’s Clinic at Sunrise Park grow and grow.  Even though I get slower every year, I enjoy playing, coaching, and helping beginning players improve their game.

I arrived in the Pickleball World after two careers.  The first was 24 years in retail management which had me up and down the West coast   When I was transferred to California, I fell in love and started my next chapter, working for 23 years in the non-profit world with At-Risk teen aged boys.

Besides playing pickleball as often as possible, I enjoy spending time with my family, my dogs and all my friends as well as tending to my garden.

0-0-2…Let’s start having fun!! See you on the courts!

RPPC Board Secretary

After a 35-year career in the world of Early Intervention working with young children with special needs—supporting their development of important skills through play. Now…I spend much of my time developing my own set of play skills on the pickleball court.   When I’m not doing that, I’m often enjoying time with my lively “pack of critters’ that includes, my husband, our kids, our cutie pie granddaughters and a big handful of dogs and chickens.  I also love traveling near and far, hiking, and indulging in all the beauty that Sonoma County has to offer.  I am also deeply grateful for the unexpected joy, friendships, and enrichment that pickleball has added to my daily life.

COME AND PLAY!

I found myself entering the pickleball courts after a busy life of raising children as a mom of four.  After my third child was born, I left my full-time job of managing the Safeway Bakery and became a full time Stay-At–Home mom.  For the next 18 years, I was in and out of every classroom, volunteering at all my kids’ school events, and hosting foreign exchange students during the summers.  Outside the classroom I volunteered with the American Cancer Society driving patients to and from their appointments.  I also volunteered at Family Connections where I supported folks who were in recovery navigate their life through their sobriety journey.

In addition to Pickleball, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, taking my dogs to the beach and remaining as active as possible!

I can’t wait to see everyone on the courts!  Pickle on Everyone!
